The Doctoral Journey
When I began my doctoral journey, it felt as though I was standing in front of an open universe with billions of stars. Looking at all of those stars, I felt overwhelmed with the thought of searching for the one star with my name and topic on it! Working full time, a mother, and other pressing issues, I just did not know how I was going to find the star. It was really scary not knowing what to expect.
Post-doctorate, I find myself sharing my strategies, approach, and encouragement with current doctoral students/candidates. We are all as different and unique as the stars in the sky so everyone will need something different from the other. Some may need help with narrowing your topic, others will need help with their research methodology, while another may just need a listening ear who understands.
